2010/2011 Registration form (.pdf)

Description:

Recreational training session is divided into three terms, fall, winter and spring, excluding winter holidays and March break. We offer weekly 1-hour classes for recreational perticipants so they can explore and learn the sport of rhythmic gymnastics.

First term of recreational program (September - December) will focus on basic skill development. In December all participants will be invited to attend testing day, during which they will demonstrate acquired skills to their coaches to receive evaluation.

Second term of recreational session (January - March) focuses on further development of specific rhythmic gymnastics skills and choreographing group routine with different apparatuses. Similarly to the first term, this session will be completed with a testing day.

During third term (April - June) recreational athletes will refine their routines, acquire new skills and prepare for the End of the Year Gala or London International Children's festival performance. At the end of the session all recreational athletes will be assessed, and those who showed an outstanding aptitude and ability for the sport may be invited to audition for our pre-competitive program.

Admission:

We welcome everyone to our recreational program. Our commitment to the most efficient ratio coach/athletes (that is: one coach and 10 athletes maximum) explains the limited spot availability. While we will do our best to accommodate your daughter, we register the athletes on first come basis.

We encourage our participants to register and follow full year program: each group masters new skills in progression and the performance routines are choreographed according to acquired abilities. At the same time, we accommodate all individual goals, as we have many examples when the athlete began practicing in winter or spring and successfully caught up with the group. Therefore, we will consider registration at any time of the year given the space availability.

Equipment and discipline requirements:

All equipment for recreational gymnasts is provided by the Club. Each gymnast is asked to wear dark lycra or cotton leggings and comfortable fitted t-shirt. Baggy clothes are not allowed during the practice since the coach won’t be able to observe gymnast’s body position and provide necessary corrections. The girls need to have their hair pinned back in a bun or a ponytail for all classes. Please arrive 5 minutes early for the practice and pick your daughter up promptly. We suggest that young gymnasts use the washroom prior to the start of the class to avoid disruptions.

Fees and payments schedule:

The total session, three terms, cost $400 includes $20 Gymnastics Ontario insurance fee for 2008/2009. We offer 10% discount to each additional sibling of the athlete. Three postdated cheques made to London Rhythmic Gymnastics Club need to be received by the registrar to confirm your registration according to the schedule provided below.
